Online Shopping: Adored yet Ignored

Jhuma Begum, a self-standing mother of two, caught my eyes at Krishi Market. She was haggling over the price of a cauliflower with the seller, who is rigid on not selling the flower at no less than Tk. 35. After a 10 minutes of debate, Jhuma's face displayed its 8 teeth with a satisfactory reduction of tk.5.

This reminiscence broadened my mouth though folded my forehead, giving me an answer without a

question.

E-commerce sites ingeniously have roared their loudest in recent years.

With ludicrous offers, “Jummah Offer" on Fridays,

they are making way to become no supplement but an alternative to the conventional method.

But, the actions remain obscure to the majority beyond the capital’s border. This fragility outside

Dhaka is a compact result of the country’s economy and people’s mind-sets.

And the phenomenon changes invariably according to the economic class: Middle and Upper.

An irony that “Lower class" leaves the argument given- even to manage a two time meal is a

distant reality that needs twelve hours of sweat dripping from head to toe. Thanks to the development of education and disdain by the purported GIANTS.

The middle class, or the aspirants I call, consists of the most complex yet simple beings on planet.

Neither can they follow now break what they don’t create.

They follow the small rules to break the big ones (1984). https://www.thedailystar.net/tags/online-shopping

In Bangladesh, a middle class person’s income range between 2-20 USD.

Dissecting the amount with various allocations-education, housing, apparel, health- what remains of

the basic FIVE is “3 times a meal a day". If lucky, one might get some snacks with no drinks.

Insecurity is the word they use to secure themselves. Believing the product by seeing photos is what that

draws them back from using the virtual cart. And there are have been cases of it where the

tasteful choices turned into nightmares when delivered.

Rumours comes as a witty addendum to the fuel already blazed.

Most Importantly, without any prior experience, people already take online-shopping to

be horribly expensive. “ We don’t need exclusive rappers with same product inside"

said Rakibul, a resident of Kushtia. And this seen its most drastic effect on apparel marketing.

However, the scenario has positive slope altering the minds.

Even though for experience, young and olds are joining the trading with the sense

of reaping benefits during emergencies. But for now atlest,

Online shopping for the middle class is no near to necessity than to luxury.

On the contrary, the upper class is the thrusting Alpha of digital marketing.

Proper time management, variety of options, digital transactions, home delivery make an

attractive attire to these people. Presently, as international sites- UKBD, Alibaba, Backpack- join the

game, people lean towards the trading more than ever before.

The companies understanding their clients are taking measures to

adjust the situation in the most convenient way possible.

Nonetheless, with the motive of achieving vision 2023,

the online shopping is in a chronicle of getting a  better redefined version for

everyone inbound. Top fashion and accessories brands on online platform are creating the belief,

reliability- absent previously. The “Cash in Delivery(COD)” is tending to eliminate the insecurity

of payment. “Return Policy" is helping people to choose

people independently with no fear of an unsatisfactory purchase.

Wait, let’s slow down our horse as the big “money problem" remains.

With an insight, this impediment is not as simple as it looks.

Because the country’s economic activities are convergent,

the order's price see a rise, reaching its destination from the core hub.

This is to dilapidate itself in two ways: Rapid transportation and decentralization.

For now, the former is on emphasis.

These are likely eliminate the delivery timing hazard in addition.

Above all, the “no interest” manner of  investments in the second tiers needs to break down.

The interest apparently doesn’t come as the investors fear of not being able to yield profit out of it in

seven digits from the metropolitans.

Note: According to The Daily Star only 35 percent of the total orders come outside of the major

3 cities: Dhaka, Sylhet and Chittagong.

To turn, the Government is decorating the spaces for tycoons with even backup plans of stimulus.

Thus the aspirants speculate about a reality where online-shopping becomes a regularly business.

They conjecture that a festival buying will be no more limited to a hundred shops but thousand sites, that

they will order coffee while having tea in rainy days. Nevertheless, this boon can be a Pandora's box

unless prior setups are made. As the net spreads of online shopping, the local will see a bevel in their

profit, shutting the shutter of shops eventually. Keeping an eye on this theory, some deny the the

prospective future.

They believe: this inception should  have well observed interlude before its initiation.

In agglomeration of the sides, it is imperative that both are considered equally within a specific time

frame sanctions to be made as the next industrial revolution nears.

Good day awaits!
