Lights, Camera, Action: How Movies Transcended Time and Culture

Motion pictures, films, or movies, whatever we call them, it always has been an integral part of our lives for over a century now. They have the power to transport us to different worlds, evoke emotions, inspire, entertain, and educate us. Movies can be seen as a reflection of our culture, history, and society. From silent films to blockbusters, from black and white to color, and from 2D to 3D, the movie industry has come a long way.

The best thing about movies is they get used to telling stories that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. They allow us to experience different perspectives and emotions that we might not experience any other way. The power of cinema lies in its ability to make us feel and think, and to leave a lasting impression on our minds.

The movie industry has grown into a massive global business, with Hollywood being the most well-known film production center. However, movies are made worldwide, and each country has its unique film culture and industry. All these film industries have their own name like the Korean film industry called "Hallyuwood", a compound word combining the word Hallyu (Korean Wave) with wood from Hollywood. Recently they have been hugely praised and globally recognized because of their movies, especially for their "K-drama". Also, China has its own industry which they call "Chinawood". China has the world's largest film market. There is more industry as like, Indian cinema, popularly known as Bollywood but there is another language in India, so they have many more industries in India like Tollywood, Kollywood, and Sandalwood together these industries produce more movies than any other country in the world, with a vast audience base in India and the diaspora. Even our country has its own film industry and it's called Dhallywood. Though we don’t have enough resources and technology, somehow we managed to make good films.

The genres of movies are vast, ranging from romance, action, horror, comedy, and drama to documentaries and experimental films. Each genre has its fans and followers; some movies can even cross genres, making them more appealing to a broader audience. India is vastly renowned for these sorts of filmmaking styles which are a blending of genres. They call it "Masala Film". But the best thing is audiences from the west really enjoy these sorts of films and the biggest example of this is the movie named "RRR" which won Academy Award (Oscar) for best original song and also got huge praise from the creator to audience everyone from the global world. The influence of movies is not limited to entertainment alone. Some films have the power to inspire social change, educate and create awareness on various issues such as climate change, gender equality, and social justice.

Movies have become an essential part of our popular culture, with many iconic characters and lines becoming part of our daily conversations. The Star Wars franchise, for example, has created a massive following with its characters such as Batman, Jon snow, Don, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader even Ayna, and phrases like "I am vengeance", "You know nothing", "don ko pakarna mushkil nehi namumkil hain", “May the force be with you”, ”Bujhonai beparta?” becoming a part of our everyday language.

In every decade there have always been some stars rising up. Some of them are superstars who are globally idealized by their fans and audience. People in general try to copy their fashion sense, hairstyle, dress up, and even their way of speaking. Some of the global stars are Shah Rukh Khan, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Dwayne Johnson. These celebrities have millions of followers as well as fans. We all know how crazy people are about Shahrukh Khan.

The best way to experience a movie is through a cinema hall though for many reasons we might not be able to watch films in a cinema hall, so we choose TV, computer, laptop, or even phone to watch it. But the best experience comes from the cinema hall. That giant screen and loud sound system give an out-of-the-world experience. In addition to that, we are now seeing many new picture formats like 3D, ReadD3D, Imax, Imax3d, and even 4D with the Dolby sound system. These film formats make this film more alive.

movie theatres giving us the ultimate experience

And with all these new technologies VFX and CGI, these films look fantastic and have indescribable beauty. And the best example of these films is Hollywood movies like Avatar, Avengers, Star Wars, and many more.

One of the significant developments in recent years has been the rise of streaming platforms known as  OTT (over-the-top) platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBOMax, Disney+, and Hulu. These platforms have made it easier to access a vast library of movies and TV shows from anywhere in the world. With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing people to stay at home, the demand for streaming services has only increased.

In conclusion, films and movies have had a significant impact on our culture and society. They have entertained, educated, and inspired us for over a century, and their influence is only growing and will keep growing. And it is getting better at giving the audience a better experience. With the rise of streaming services and digital platforms, we can expect the movie industry to evolve further and reach new heights in the future.
