Blackpink is a South Korean girl group of four members : Kim Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Park Chaeyoung, Lalisa Manobal.

Blackpink, the largest K-pop girl group, debuted on the 8th August of 2016, under YG Entertainment. They have 4 mini albums : Square One, Square Two, Square Up, Kill This Love, 1 digital single : As If It Is Your Last and 2 full length albums : The Album, Born Pink. They also have 4 Japanese Version albums : Blackpink, Blackpink In Your Area, Kill This Love. However, Square One is their first album. 

Blackpink debuted with their first album on 8th August, 2016. As a rookie group, they gained fame with the song "Whistle". But " Boombayah" topped one as a debut song. "As If It Is Your Last " had the most certified downloads in all of South Korea. 

However, 2018 was the turning point for Blackpink. Their third mini album "Square Up" broke the records of music industry. "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du'' lead single of "Square Up" placed number one at the Global Chart Hot 100 hits ever by an all female K-pop girl group which was their first song to hit billion.They are the first Korean girl group to position in Billboard Digital Songs Chart. Soon they grew into a huge global group. 

Well, that was not the end, but the beginning of a new era in the music industry. "Kill This Love " album surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, becoming the first ever group to achieve this. Blackpink is the first K-pop artist to perform in Coachella. 

In 2020, the first pre-release single "How You Like That" claimed the biggest debut on Spotify US and Spotify Global Music Chart. It broke the record of the most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours. "The Album" became the highest pre-selling and selling album over the years, also their first album containing two lead music videos. 

And last but not the least, "Born Pink" album made the haters' mouths shut with the song " Shut Down" positioning the highest rank a group can ever achieve so far. 

Collaboration with Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Cardi B. made them known well globally. They the are global ambassadors of prestigious companies like Chanel, Celine, Dior, Saint Laurent, Adidas, Vogue and so on. Their fashion sense gained the title of the most stylish fashionista group. 

Hard work always pays off. And Blackpink is a living proof of it. They had to pay the price by sacrificing the things that they want to enjoy the success and fame that they have right now. In the very beginning of their trainee days, there were 9 girls who were selected to form a group called " Pink Punk". But as the days passed by, the girls got eliminated and there were only four of them. Jennie Kim said in a show that the days were like survival days for them. They had to improve their skills more and more as their debut date was coming closer. But still there was much incertitude of their debut. 

Jennie had been a trainee for 6 long years. She is the lead rapper of the group and the first member to go solo with her song "Solo" which became the most viewed music video in 24 hours by a K-pop female artist.

Lisa moved to South Korea from Thailand at 13 years after succeeding the audition. She was not allowed to speak English as she has to learn Korean language as a part of her training. She is the first to debut a solo album "Lalisa" and won MTV Video Music Award as first Korean artist. 

Jisoo is the visual member. She is called unnie, means elder sister for her caring nature towards her fellows. She will be debuting her album "ME" in the upcoming 31st March which surpassed highest pre-order sale record. 

Rose is the lead vocalist. Her origin is Korea but born in Auckland, New Zealand. " R ", Rose's solo album ranked in the top 20 Albums of the year 2021.

Four people, four cultures. But the struggles they faced together made them more strong and bonded in a family of four. And their music directly connects with our heart. Practice and practice makes one perfect. But perseverance and will power of mind can change anything. They spoke in their music that nobody is perfect in this society. Everybody is perfect in their own way.
